Our Purpose & Vision

Island Creek Baptist Church does not presently espouse a mission statement. We prefer a purpose statement. A ‘mission statement’ may describe what we do, but we believe it is more important to communicate why we are doing missions as ambassadors for Jesus. We love God because He first loved us (cf. 1 Jn. 4:19). God could not have expressed a greater – more perfect love – than by sending His only begotten Son to die for our sins (cf. Jn. 3:16; 15:13; 1 Jn. 4:9-10). Missions change as needs change but our purpose never changes. Our purpose is to love God and His people with all of our heart, soul, and mind… no matter the cost. The vision of our church is simple. As  beneficiaries of such ‘amazing’ and ‘life-giving’ grace, we never want to become satisfied that we have sufficiently glorified our Lord and Savior as long as we remain in our earthly tabernacles!
